Suncoast Chapter Falcon Club of America

Greetings Fellow Falconeers!!

Now it is April already and the car events are in full swing.  Hope you were able to get out to some of the events.

I went to the SVRA Races in Sebring and had a good time.  I have a couple of really good images to share.  These images were taken at Sebring Raceway on Saturday, March 4. The Ford GT is the ride of Mr. Paul Straub who parked next to me at the car show during the SVRA races. I learned that Mr. Straub retired from Ford in 1989 having worked as an engineer since 1953. Sharp as a tack but dependent on his cane, he was over to my 64 Sprint the minute I opened the hood. He worked on chassis and suspension goodies. Even mentioned that he worked on correcting the "chassis failures" in the unibody cars during testing when the V8 was added, I was speechless (which is very unusual for me) as he spoke. For me, he was "Best in Show." And yes, he did a lap on the track himself. He was a celeb when he was there.

And on Thursday, March 23rd I drove up to Pensacola for the FCA Regional event hosted by the South Coast Chapter held at the Fair Grounds.  I met up with Chuck & Carolyn Beason and Dave and May Wagner on the way so we traveled together.  There were other brands holding their events at the same time but in other building.  We should all be very proud of Chuck and Carolyn as their 65 Sprint was selected as “Best in Show” for the stock class.  There were not too many cars there but most were show quality which speaks to the level of the Beason’s Sprint.  We ended midafternoon on Saturday and with vicious weather coming from the west we all scattered for home or other points to the east.  This was a good test trip for my car (1,100 miles) and my recent motor changes.  All is better than before for me.

We are looking for an event for April. [ Check Events Page] The All Ford Event from last year at Horsepower Ranch will not be held this year.  Anyone have any suggestions, please contact me.  My email is: or call me anytime at 863-206-1990.  I look forward to hearing from you.
