‘Summit Racing All Ford Show and Shine’

Even though some of us had just driven to the FCA National in Springfield, MO, we knew we couldn’t miss this show sponsored by the Southeast FCA Chapter. It was sunny and hot, but the fine folks at Summit Racing didn’t seem to mind us going into their air-conditioned showroom many times during the day. Perhaps it had something to do with the amount of shopping being done?

Of the 98 Fords registered, 28 were Falcons!  We drove our ’65 Sprint convertible down from Tennessee with Buddy & Molly McKee in their ’63 Futura convertible. Chuck and Carolyn Beason brought their ’65 Sprint hardtop, which had just won ‘Best of Show’ at the FCA National.  All three of our cars got an award in the Top 20 voting.

It was great seeing all our Falcon friends and meeting new ones. We’re hoping the Southeast Chapter makes this an annual event.

35th Annual Turkey Run Car Show 2008

The Suncoast Chapter has reserved parking for 15 Falcons and hopefully the area assigned to us will once again be the playground area. We should receive our parking area assignment in mid September. We will be requiring pre-registration for the Falcon parking since we will only have 15 spaces. Please let me know by October 1 if you are planning to attend and park with the Suncoast Falcons. Notification should be made to Chuck at crbeason@cfl.rr.com or 321-383-1955. Upon receipt of parking area assignment I will send out maps detailing our assigned parking area and the club parking decals. I look forward to seeing our area filled again this year with beautiful shiny Falcons.

 TERIYAKI GLAZED SALMON

½ cup mayo

2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce

1 tablespoon ginger spice paste

1 tablespoon cilantro herb paste

1 tablespoon roasted garlic

1 ½ pounds salmon fillets (as for skin to be removed)

Preheat 2 sided tabletop grill. Combine all ingredients (except salmon) in a medium bowl, mixing until well blended. Cut salmon into 4 portions (wash hands). Dip both sides of salmon into teriyaki mixture to coat. Place salmon on grill and spread remaining teriyaki mixture on top of fish. Close lid and grill 5 -7 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 145 deg. F. If using regular grill, double cooking time, turning once. Cook time will vary depending on the thickness of the salmon.
